How we got here!

Kelly Chin is the owner of Kelly's Home Care. She registered the company after a personal experience of caring for her own grandmother, Polly. Polly was an independent strong woman who was sure she would never need home care services or even ever require help or assistance from her family with her personal home care needs. Unfortunately, after having a few falls in the home, Polly was told by her doctors that she should no longer be living on her own and that it was in her best interest to move in with family or to an assisted living, retirement home. At that point, Polly decided to move with her family as she feared moving into a retirement home or long-term care home. When she moved in, the family all shared the role of her personal care providers. In doing so, they also had additional caregivers to fill in the gaps when the family was unable to be there. During that time, Kelly observed many personal support workers and the importance of what a personal support worker/caregiver does. The family met many nice, qualified caregivers, and some who were nice and may have been qualified, however just not the right match for Polly. Eventually, Polly became palliative. During this time, Kelly developed a passion for caring for the elderly and knew that this was what she was supposed to do for the elderly community. Working in different sectors of the field for many years Kelly has developed the experience and knowledge of what client's most important needs are and how to value each individual while providing care to each client with dignity, and respect and taking into consideration each client's individuality. With more than 12 years of providing in-home care services to the elderly in the community, Kelly is confident that she knows what it takes to look after our clients and has a clear vision of what a great caregiver is and the qualities, we want to represent Kelly's Home Care.
